Community Support
Anglicare
As the social justice arm of the Anglican Church, Anglicare’s mission is to tackle disadvantage, helping children and families break free from the cycle of poverty. Our work focuses on helping children, young people and families who are homeless or in crisis. Presently, Dubbo Anglicare provides support to individuals and families experiencing hardship, with accessing No Interest Loans through the NILS program.
Community Service
Op Shop
The Op Shop is a parish-based social caring ministry to the community of Dubbo and Western NSW.
The shop is situated in the church grounds and is staffed by volunteers.
Twice a year the Op Shop has a day where all clothing is free. This helps support other ministries in Dubbo and surrounding Western areas.
The Op Shop’s Goal is to create a sense of community amongst our volunteers and all those in need to which we serve; as we shine the light of Christ in the City of Dubbo.

Community Fundraising
AWA
The Anglican Women of Australia (AWA) commenced in Dubbo more than 30 years ago. Many previous members, and many no longer with us, have contributed to the AWA and its activities, and are remembered with affection. There are other women who are willing to assist us when needed to whom we are grateful. Some activities with which AWA has been involved in are Pancake Night for Shrove Tuesday, soup and damper lunch, Church Fete, catering for funerals, Annual Thanksgiving and Remembrance Service and much more.
Our fundraising activities and the funds raised are used in the church in many ways including some much needed maintenance.
Community Ministry
Baptisms
Baptism is for Christian people who have a committed relationship with the Lord Jesus. It is a public declaration before God, family, friends, and our congregation of your faith in him and your desire to raise your child in that same faith.
Christianity is not simply a set of rules, rituals, or traditions to follow. At its heart, it is a relationship—a genuine, personal, and active relationship with God—made possible through Jesus’ death and resurrection. Baptism is not just a meaningful ceremony; it is a sign of that relationship. And like any relationship, faith is nurtured—it grows, deepens, and flourishes—as you and your family take part in the ongoing life and ministry of the local church.
As you can see, baptism is a significant commitment. Because of this, it is for those who are regularly part of our church family. So please come along with your family to our 10am Sunday service, which is contemporary in style and includes a kids’ program during school terms.
This may feel like a big step, and you might not be in that place right now. If that’s the case, we offer another service that may be more appropriate for you—a Thanksgiving Service. This service does not assume the same level of commitment but still allows you to mark the birth of your child in a wonderful way. It is an opportunity to thank God for their life and ask for his blessing upon them as they
grow.
If you would like to explore a Thanksgiving Service, please contact our Parish rector directly by emailing: rector@dubboanglicanchurch.org.
